Celebrate one of South Dakota’s greatest heroes as you dive into the powerful true story of Billy Mills, the Oglala Lakota runner from the Pine Ridge Reservation who stunned the world with his historic Olympic gold in the 10,000‑meter race.

Billy’s remarkable journey inspired the film Running Brave, with actor Robby Benson portraying him onscreen. This gathering offers an intimate evening featuring dinner and a Q&A conversation with both Billy Mills (1964 Olympic Champion and advocate for Indigenous youth) and Robby Benson (star of Running Brave).

Together, they’ll reflect on the legacy of the race, the making of the film, and the enduring impact of Billy’s story on communities across the country.
