The SDJO 7 is a rotating cast of some of the best improvisors in the South Dakota Jazz Orchestra and represents a handful of ambassadors of Jazz, Black American Music, and the Avant-Garde in the state of South Dakota. The SDJO 7 unites West river & East River musicians, performing music composed by all members of the ensemble, and is thrilled to perform its debut show at TRIO Jazz Club - the home of jazz in South Dakota! Featuring Danny Thornburg (Rapid City) on trombone, Joel Shotwell (Sioux Falls) on tenor sax, Alex Massa (Rapid City) on trumpet, Andrew Reinartz (Sioux Falls) on bass, Jeff Paul (Sioux Falls) on piano, Jeremy Quick (Chadron, NE) on guitar, and Derek Hengeveld (Valley Springs) on drums, this collaboration celebrates the beauty of the South Dakota Jazz Scene.
